Privacy Policy
Overview
VidCompacter shrinks videos on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac so they’re easier to share. This page is how we handle privacy. Short version: your videos stay on your device. We don’t take them.
Data Collection
We do not collect any personal data.
You don’t need an account or email to use VidCompacter. Your videos are your business. For Apple’s privacy label, that matches Data Not Collected.
Data Storage
Everything happens on your device. We don’t upload your videos to a server.
- On iPhone and iPad, the smaller file stays in the app until you share it, delete it, or close the app.
- On Mac, the smaller file lands in Downloads as a
_social.mp4.
If you save a copy to Photos or Files, that copy is still just on your Apple devices.
Data Deletion
You control the files. Delete them from the app, Downloads, Photos, or Files whenever you want. We never kept a copy, so we can’t get them back for you.
Permissions
- Photos (iPhone and iPad): only so you can pick a video. We don’t peek at the rest of your library.
- Files / Finder: only for the video you choose.
Third-Party Services
The shrinking happens on your device. We don’t use ads, tracking, or analytics that send your info to us. We don’t sell your data — we don’t have any to sell.
If you post the finished file to Bluesky, Mastodon, or somewhere else, that app’s privacy rules apply there.
Children’s Privacy
VidCompacter is fine for all ages. We don’t collect personal information.
